Persons incarcerated in Colorado may not receive photographs that meet any of the below criteria:
Photograph of other inmates
Photograph of self
Photograph of nudity (including baby photos). Photograph of children can be discarded.
Photograph of unlawful activity
Photograph of gang related signs (including all hand signs), symbols, or tattoos.
Photograph from another DOC offender
Photograph over 8”x10”
Polaroid photos
Receiving glossy photographs under a layer of black permanent marker and then removing the excess ink with muscle rub will not damage the original image. This is well known information throughout the staff and depending on a sliding scale of mood, values, and commitment, it is stopped.
